Monthly book club
Blush Club
One book a month, one night in Virginia Beach, and a room full of people who also have opinions about fictional men. Your ticket includes the book, signed when the author can manage it. Turn up having read it or turn up having skimmed it, nobody is checking.

September Blush Club: Threshing Day
Release night. Thirteen Empyrean stories land September 29 and we read them together first, dragon bonding, signet matching, a trivia challenge and a costume contest, with your member discount on the night's table.
Wasserhund Brewing, Virginia Beach
$55 · includes the Threshing Day pre-order, a drink ticket and a shopping discount
Anyone can join and everyone votes on the pick. Coven members get priority sign-up and go free.
How it works
Four steps, one of which is snacks
01
Book a spot
One ticket, one seat. The book is included, and we bring it on the night.
02
Vote on the next one
Every month has a theme and you pick the book. Vampires in April, mafia in February, because that is what the vote said.
03
Sign up early
The list closes a couple of weeks ahead so every copy can be ordered and in your hands before the night, sooner if we sell out, which happens.
04
Turn up
The address and start time go out with the pick. Some months that is a room with wine and treats; some months it is a hockey rink or a ballpark.

Members book first, before anyone else
Every Blush Club is capped by whatever room we are in, and members see the booking link before it goes public. That is usually the difference between going and reading about it after.

The room
How a night actually looks

No pressure to have finished it. No pressure to say anything clever. Several people come alone the first time and leave with a group chat.
Before you ask
Do I have to finish the book?
No. Skimmers, DNFs and people who only listened to the audiobook at double speed are all welcome. Spoilers are fair game though.
Who chooses the book?
You do. Each month has a theme and the vote goes up in our Instagram stories. That is how we went from romantasy to mafia to vampires.
Is there an age limit?
It is an 18+ club and we read strictly romance, unapologetically at the spicier end.
Is the book really included?
Yes. A ticket, usually around $50, covers the book, wine, treats and 10% off at the shop that night. Field-trip months cost a little more. When the author can sign for us, copies come signed. Field-trip months cost a little more because the ticket covers the outing too.
Where does it meet?
Virginia Beach. The venue has moved around as the shop has grown, so each announcement carries the address.
What if I do not know anyone?
Most people come alone the first time. It is a book club, not a party, so there is a built-in thing to talk about.
When do I need to sign up?
A couple of weeks before, usually mid-month, earlier if the night falls early. Each announcement gives the cut-off.
Can I bring someone?
Yes, but they need their own ticket. Spots are capped by the room.
